Gigabit Ethernet Consortium
The Gigabit Ethernet Consortium was originally established in 1997.
It is funded by member companies who share a
common goal of fostering interoperability within Gigabit Ethernet
products and increasing the market feasibility of Gigabit Ethernet
technology. The Gigabit Ethernet Consortium tests Gigabit Ethernet (Std
802.3TM-2005) products and software from both
an interoperability and conformance prspective.
A few benefits of membership include:
- The Gigabit Ethernet Consortium can be thought of an extension of
an in-house test lab and can help decrease the time to market for
1000Mb/s Ethernet devices by identifying potential interoperability
issues early in the development process.
- Membership to the Gigabit Ethernet Consortium gives one access to
a large and extensive testbed
of 1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-SX and 1000BASE-LX devices from more than 25
different companies.
- The Gigabit Ethernet Consortium also offers a large number of
conformance test suites in a flexible
and friendly testing environment.
- Testing is done using cutting edge testing equipment and our own customized testing software and
hardware.
- Members will receive an industry recognized test report for all
testing done.
The UNH-IOL also provides 10BASE-T
Testing Services, Fast Ethernet, 10Gigabit Ethernet and Power over Ethernet Consortia.
